This is a collection of songs I’ve written over there years where I give new words to existing tunes to parody or satirise the existing song or the person it is about.
‘Hallelujah’– Tony Abbott
This song relates to the period before Abbott toppled Malcom Turnbull. It alludes to Abbott’s comments in favour of virginity, he statement that he found homosexuality threatening, his use of the climaate change issue to topple Turmbull, WorkChoices and his reltionship with the Catolic Church and George Pell.
‘My Ol’ Budgee’- Tony Abbott- After Turnbull topples him back.
This song refers to the period when Abbott was PM and how he lost favour with the public and the successful challenge from Turnbull after the Canning by-election. It includes his relationship with Andrew Bolt and Peter Credlin, his strange comment to Kerry O’Brien that while what he says may lies its true if written down, his wink to Jon Faine in response to a woman’s comment that she had turned to sex work to make ends meet, his captain’s pick regarding Prince Phillip, Bronwyn Bishop’s chopper ride to Geelong at taxpayer’s expense and his botched attempt to say’ Nobody is the repository of all wisdom”.
‘I’m Dreaming of a Hot Christmas’– This song is parody of Bing Crosby classic song “White Christmas’ and the song ‘Santa Clause is coming to town’ in which allusions to Christmas are replaced sexual allusions.
‘Perfect Day’- Just for the fun of it-
‘Bein a punter’– Satirises punting. (I’ve always liked a bet).
